11.19.09 | Laura Henry Hello Jerrold,
My name is Laura Henry and I currently live in Aberdeen, Scotland but moving to Canmore in early March next year. I have been playing alto saxophone for @ 7 years and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) taught under Scottish jazz saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski. I am hoping to study on a postgraduate course in jazz in the near future. I would like to spend my time in Canada gaining new musical experiences, meeting new musicians and learning as much as I can on the saxophone. I wondered if you would be available for some lessons or if you could put me in contact of others that me be available? I am very hardworking and dedicated to the saxophone, I guarantee your time would not be wasted.
Many Thanks,
Laura Henry

08.22.09 | John Arnett Good day Jerrold, I am listening to the mighty CKUA and heard you mentioned. I have a strange question. Did you used to work at A&B sound in Edmonton? There was a chap who worked in the jazz section and turned me on to alot of great music. Love your sound. Cheers, John A.
07.14.09 | Ryan and Heather Hey Jerrold, thanks for those discs, thank god you had them on hand. I was the guy at the Festival of Beer at the Mayfield Inn. I had a chance to take both your albumns with me on a trip out to Golden and back. Lots of time to really soak up the music. To be perfectly honest, I never really got into Jazz until now. Your stuff is great. At least, its friggin' near perfect for me. A great mix of slow and mellow and more. Anyway, thanks very much for your work, I really appreciate it! I'll be looking forward to your next albumn!
-Ryan and Heather

05.18.09 | Ashley Scheelar Hey Jarrold! Loved loved loved the show on Saturday at Beat Niq. It was perfection from start to finish! Just wanted to let you know. I'm going to buy your album on iTunes right now!!
05.05.09 | Carol Balas Hey! Jerrold, how great it is to see how well you've done in the music world so far!
So I FINALLY completely my recording project that I began 'way back in 1995! It's more like your mama's jazz, war-time romance standard-like compositions, but I've had several very good reviews on it.
I've been trying to contact you for some time. I went through MyTelus.com and found a G. Dubyk in Lethbridge. That turned out to be a lady who although not related to you, knew of you! She told me how to spell your name properly, so now I've fianlly found you!
I want to thank you again for playing on my first release, (do you remember Ron Deitrich in Hinton? Actually, when I saw the Maverick on your site, I wondered if you used his car! I haven't spoken with him for several years, I heard that he sold out his equipment years ago and doesn't even play anymore)
I'd like to offer you a copy of my release, "Hard To Define."
May I use one of your pics in a collage of the musicians and singers who performed? - in the liner notes.
So you're in Victoria now? I just prepared 2 young singers from 100 Mile House for their audition into that school. They were both trying out for the Musical Theatre program but I'd encouraged the girl to check out the jazz dept.
I've been in Kamloops for 13 years. I pretty much had to start over musically, so that's why my projects have taken so long. I often wonder if you still have in your possession the notes you wrote out for "Luv Her Rite" and "Nobody Won"?
Looking forward to hearing from you when you return from the Edmonoton trip. Sincerely, Carol Balas

03.15.09 | tyler I closed my eyes, enjoyed the perfectly spaced melodic line and felt transported to a trendy European outdoor cafe where I am soaking up the sun and watching the folks visit and shop on cobblestone streets.
03.03.09 | Kelly J Breakfast on Me.....
A little bit dark, a little bit sexy, 100% appropriately titled
03.03.09 | Michael Kant Hi Jerrold, I listened to the track you sent me and you know how I am with a dare. My response I was immediately thrown back to classic Carlos Santana in the French Riviera. It was laid back class. A bright white set on a 60's movie. Me looking for the Cuban cigar and shouting where's my bourbon, I need my bourbon. You got something good and next time it's 'Breakfast on Me' dude.
02.28.09 | Marty Hey Jerrold,
If breakfast is on you, I'm getting the GRAND SLAM breakfast!

06.22.08 | Cindy McLeod Hello Jerrold;
I'm sorry to have to inform you that Ki'ts has cancelled their jazz policy. I found out from the player that performed there this past Thursday, and it was confirmed by the artist who was scheduled to perform this coming week, who spoke with the owner. (My calls have not been returned).
I feel terrible about this and send my sincere apologies. Please contact Mark D'Angelo at 210-1777 if you have any questions.
Cindy

Long time no hear! Robb told me you were teaching at GMCC (one of his friends Justin is in your class) so I googled you and look what came up.

Well anyways I just wanted to send you a quick note to say hi. When I listen to your CD I'll write back. I'm sure it's excellent - when you played it always came thru how much you truly love music.
Take care,
Mel.

11.19.07 | Michelle Van Der Molen Thanks for a terrific CD and equally great opportunity for Erin and Nathan to see you live in concert..we all enjoyed the music immensely on Friday (Nov. 16), and Nathan especially liked the work of your drummer. Your keyboard guy was really intense, and great fun to watch. Your bassist was terrific as well...Of course, you were the best! The CD is on permanent rotation on our player at home, and the variety of your tunes keep company with reading time, dinnertime and dish cleanup...
Thanks again,
Michelle (Nathan's mom)
11.18.07 | Paul Wanzel Hey Jerrold.....Wow, am I EVER embarrassed....got all of my foto kit set up the other night and BANG....both my main AND my back-up batteries were dead....how un-professional....at any rate I tore it all down before your second set began and REALLY, REALLY enjoyed it!!!! Man you guys REALLY funked/grooved $29.50 HARD!!! I've gotta admit, I haven't heard LIVE Jazz since watching a few concerts put on in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at a Jazz/restaurant spot called "CabbageTown" by one of Canada's outstanding Grandfathers of the Canadian Jazz scene, Oliver Jones, with Skip Beckwith on Bass and Arnil Sharma on Drums....and Jerry, you and the group brought ALL of that passion/emotion back for me!!!!! In spades...I had tears welling up in my eyes ALL through the first set....! Man you guys are tite and totally inter-related....Also, MAN-O-Man does Tom EVER make that Rhodes SING!!!!! WOW....I yelled out in excitement a number of times through his solo's....You guys are outstanding...and you succeeded in bringing out all that emotion and excitement only ever instilled during performances in my past with Charles Biddles @ Biddle's in Montreal, Live, and as mentioned before with Oliver Jones!!!!!!!
What a night...I'll be MOSt definitely keeping an eye on your website schedule and frequenting your live performances here in Edmonton/Calgary...AND, NEXT time you guys play the Yardbird, my Camera Batteries WILL be in FULL charge...literally...Sorry Man, and good luck...see ya soon
Paul

09.14.07 | Rob McLean Just finished listening to your cd at great length. The recordings provided me with the Dubyk fix I was craving while spending time at the Calgary Jazz Festival. There is a certain forward momentum to the tracks that engage the listener with an intensity which holds your attention. Something that I felt this recording was lacking was solo saxophone pieces. I'll have to be patient until the next cd is released for this to be explored. This one is definitely going on my Ipod. Looking forward to possibly working with you for my first year of post-secondary,- Rob
